DRYING OUT: Rain will end this morning in the eastern counties of the state, some of it could mix with a bit of snow before ending but nothing significant with that at this point. Thereafter, it looks mainly dry through the weekend. The system late Friday into Saturday is a lot drier on this run but still could kick off a shower mainly in the northern counties of the state at that time. Temperatures will drop into the 40s to lower 50s today and Thursday with modest warming into the 50s on Friday. Saturday and Sunday will also see mainly dry conditions with readings around 50 or so with a cold high pressure nosing into the state by Monday of next week that will drop temps back into the 40s.
NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND: A disturbance next Tuesday into Wednesday could bring a little bit of snow to the area, but nothing significant at this time. Otherwise looking into the extended period, it looks a lot more quiet than it did on the model run yesterday. There are a few systems that are forecast to move through but none of them looking to bring anything significant at this point. Given the complete flipping to a drier calmer pattern, we’ll throw this out at this point and wait for clarification in coming days.
