NEXT STORM: We will have some isolated showers today mainly in the northern counties as a storm scrapes the state to our north, in the south, there could be some peaks of sunshine with readings still remaining about where they were yesterday in the 50s to lower 60s. The next wave of precipitation arrives Tuesday into Wednesday. This will be a combination of a storm coming out of the southwest, Gulf of Mexico moisture and remnant moisture from Tropical Storm Sonia in the Eastern Pacific. This will bring quite a bit of moderate to possibly heavy precipitation to the state. With cold air filtering into the northwestern counties of the state, there is a good chance that there could be a wintry mix beginning as early as Tuesday afternoon and evening there. Some of the precipitation may switch over to all snow and could accumulate. Any accumulations are likely to be around 2-4 inches at this time, with the heaviest being to the north and northwest of the state. However this may still change and there is a chance that some winter weather advisories could be issued in those areas for this storm if not anything higher. Elsewhere in the state, rainfall amounts are likely going to exceed an inch and some areas could approach 2”. We’ll just have to see how this storm is going to look as it comes in tomorrow.

END OF WEEK INTO WEEKEND: Colder air will drop into the state Thursday before winds back to the south once again on Friday that will moderate readings back to near seasonal levels at that time. There will be a storm system that will move just to the north of the state but it could be close enough to bring a shower to areas north of US Hwy 20 Friday night into Saturday morning. Saturday will be cooler with readings a few degrees either side of 50 with slightly warmer readings Sunday as winds are back around to the south once more ahead of another system that will move into the area for Veterans Day next Monday.

FAR AS I CAN SEE: Significant storm still on track on the 13th and 14th with rain followed by snow. Amounts of both could be somewhat significant but it’s way too early to determine exact amounts at this time. It will be a storm to keep track of for the next week. Much colder air will come in behind this system, which will likely drop readings down into the 30s for highs and lows down into the teens given the height levels seen on the model run. Temperatures will modify through the end of the period back to above seasonal levels by the end of the period.
