WET DAYS: Still looking wet today into the first half of tomorrow. The GFS is a bit slower in moving the rain out, thus there could still be some lingering rain in the far eastern counties during the evening hours that may affect Trick or Treating but it should be on the way out. Some thunderstorms are still possible mainly today into tonight. Rainfall is starting to look to be a lot less than first forecast, perhaps an inch in places mainly in the southern half of the state with isolated heavier totals, with perhaps a half inch elsewhere. You can thank thunderstorms that will be to our south for the limitation of rainfall in our area. Highs today will be in the 50s far north and northwest to 60s elsewhere. Temperatures Thursday will be hitting the highs early in the day, especially in the eastern counties with readings falling throughout the day.
INTO THE WEEKEND: Still looking at a weak disturbance Friday night into Saturday morning that may bring a flurry or two but nothing significant at this time. Highs Saturday will be in the 40s to lower 50s. Winds will turn southerly on Sunday which look to boost the temperatures back well into the 50s for most of the state at that time.
NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND: A storm system will be approaching from the west on Monday next week which will bring a little light rain to the state at that time. Some rain will move back into the state late Tuesday into Wednesday of next week along and behind the departing cold front at that time as well. Farther along, temperatures will drop back below seasonal averages through the rest of next week into the following weekend as high pressure will drop in from Canada. An arctic type boundary may bring some rain and or snow to the state around Veterans Day (10th and 11th). Another more significant storm looks to take shape around the 13th and 14th with strong southerly winds ahead of it could bring us more springtime weather with rain and thunderstorms possible at that time. A wildly changing pattern in this model run.
