CONTINUED OCTOBER WARMING: Temperatures will continue to slowly rise as winds blow in from the south and southwest. Readings will be in the 70s today and tomorrow ahead of a storm system that will bring some chances of showers and isolated thunderstorms Friday into early Saturday. Skies up to that point will be mainly sunny.

WEEKEND INTO NEXT WEEK: Readings will cool off into the 60s to low 70s behind the front for the weekend, with another system looking to move in for the beginning of the new work week. It will be partly to mostly sunny on Saturday with only a few morning showers possible in the eastern counties with mainly sunny skies taking hold on Sunday. The next storm moves in late Sunday night into Monday with a good steady rain across the area. There may be some rumbles of thunder but most will just see rain. Readings will be held down likely into the 50s to lower 60s. As the system moves to the northeast and away, colder air will wrap in behind the system and with temperatures only a few thousand feet above the ground being below freezing, there could be some drizzle or ice pellets Tuesday with some of the wraparound moisture as the system departs. Temperatures are likely to be in the 50s if not cooler depending on the amount of clouds, but we’ll have to fine tune this forecast as we draw closer to the event in question.

FALLING THROUGH OCTOBER: We get under a northwesterly flow with a weak disturbance on the 17th and 18th that could bring some light rain but nothing that will amount to anything significant at this point. Another more significant system arrives on the 21st and stalls over the area due to a high pressure to our southeast that will keep the system will progressing to the east. This looks to last at least through the 23rd with several rounds of showers and perhaps a rumble of thunder. Cold air looks ready to filter into the area thereafter.
