RAIN AND WARMTH: A warm front moved through the state last night and it is bringing summery weather back into the state for the next couple of days with the risk of some showers and thunderstorms as well. Today there may be some early morning activity in the eastern counties as the warm front moves north. Some isolated activity is possible in the afternoon as well but those could occur about anywhere. Highs today will be in the 80s to near 90 south and west. Thursday will see the cold front moving in from the west and northwest. This will trigger shower and thunderstorm development along it as it moves through the state. Some of the storms could be strong to possibly severe. Highs on Thursday will be in the mid 70s NW (where the front will move through earlier in the day) to the mid 80s southeast where the front will move through later Thursday night into Friday Morning. There is likely to be some lingering rain on Friday in the eastern counties with skies slowly clearing out west. Readings will be back into the 70s Friday and Sunday statewide, with some upper 60s possible in the northeastern counties for highs on Saturday.

WARMING UP: Winds will turn southerly once again to start the new work week with a disturbance grazing the state on Monday with the slight chance of a shower or storm mainly in the northwestern quarter of the state. Readings will also start to warm back into the upper 70s to lower 80s through the middle of the week with mainly sunny skies Tuesday and Wednesday.

INTO OCTOBER: The extended period begins with a frontal system that looks to move through on Thursday and Friday of next week (26th and 27th) with a chance of showers and thunderstorms along it. Thereafter the storm track heads back north again similar to what we had most of the summer. This looks to keep readings above seasonal levels and keep any precipitation chance non-existent. This will last until the first few days of October when the pattern looks to become active once again with several system possible bringing with it some showers and possible thunderstorms.
