WEEKEND: The weekend will see a frontal system approach from the northwest. This will bring rain this afternoon into this evening across the northwestern counties at first before spreading to the rest of the state overnight into the day on Sunday. Rainfall amounts of a half inch are possible with some areas getting more and others getting less. Highs today will be in the 70s across the state. Sunday will see readings down into the mid to upper 60s north to mid 70s farther south.

NEXT WEEK: High Pressure will quickly move into the area but moisture looks to return as early as Tuesday across the state ahead of another storm that will be moving into the area from the west. Tuesday night through Thursday looks to see some rain shower and thunderstorm activity around but it will be hit and miss with some dry periods interspersed. Tuesday night and Wednesday night look to have the best chances at this time. Readings during this period will warm back into the 80s with southerly winds taking hold before cooling off behind the front on Friday.

EXTENDED PERIOD: The GFS continues to see a significant system around the 23rd-24th of September before the pattern becomes more calm and seasonal across the area. Nothing to write home about, but we’ll continue to monitor the one system for any more rainfall across the state.
