HEAT CONTINUES: The heat wave continues with mainly sunny skies. There really isn’t a whole lot to add to that. A cold front will move into the northeastern counties that will cool them down slightly. It may also bring a very isolated shower or storm there but the best chances look to be north and east of the state. This will last into Thursday before the heat rebuilds for Friday into the Labor Day weekend before a front looks to make an appearance Sunday with some showers and thunderstorms at that time as well.
NEXT WEEK: The ridge resets to our west putting the state in a northwesterly flow which will keep readings down to near seasonal levels. After the cold front moves through Sunday, the next chance of rain looks to come next Wednesday with another system coming out of the west. Thereafter the readings look to be near seasonal levels with some chances of showers and thunderstorms but confidence looks rather low at this time. We’ll need to see more model runs before we get a clearer picture of the weather ahead in September.
