Drought expansion has slowed across the state, according to the weekly drought monitor released by the National Drought Mitigation Center. Moderate drought has remained at a comfortable level of 35.16% with severe drought at 0%. Abnormally dry has continued to move into the state, rising to 82.43% this week.

According to the “Iowa Weather Report,” a daily forecast published by Meteorologist-in-Charge Jeff Wilcox, “a ridge and continued dry weather may be the best guess at this point as we see no weather pattern change for the foreseeable future.”
