RAIN AT MID-WEEK: Warm temperatures continue through the week with a chance of some showers and thunderstorms returning to the state Wednesday night into Thursday. Best chance of any rain will be the farther north you are. Highs through mid-week will be in the 80s to lower 90s for highs and 60s to near 70 for lows. Rain amounts will be varied around a quarter to half inch, although WPC has amounts over an inch in the northern part of the state, we don’t feel too confident with that solution, we’ll see what occurs by tomorrow.

THEREAFTER: After that system moves away, we go back into a dry pattern through the weekend into early next week with continued warm temperatures in the 80s to near 90 as a ridge begins to take hold over the area. This will be good for any outdoor plans you may have for the weekend or anything that needs to be done outside. The ridge looks to stay around through the end of the month and into the first few days of September with the GFS showing a trough moving down from Canada just after Labor Day which will bring some relief to the state with regards to the warm temperatures but very little if any rainfall to go along with it.
