MORE FOOTBALL WEATHER: Another day of cool weather with a bit more sunshine today than yesterday where some clouds kept temperatures down in the eastern and northeastern counties where they barely struggled to get into the 60s, (some areas didn’t even manage that!). Highs today will range from the mid 60s in the northeastern counties to the mid 70s over the southern and southwestern counties of the state with partly to mostly sunny skies. Not as cool tonight into Monday but still clear to partly cloudy with lows in the 50s across the state. Clouds will be on the increase and perhaps a very early morning shower in SW can’t be ruled out.

WORK WEEK WEATHER: The disturbance that we’ve talked about the last few days is looking more and more to miss the state entirely but may bring an isolated shower or storm across the area. The chances are about 20-30% with the better rain chances being over Missouri and Central and Southern Illinois. Readings will begin to rise back to near seasonal levels as we move forward through the work week. Some rain chances across the state again on Wednesday or so, but the next organized system will appear late Thursday night into Friday, perhaps even into early Saturday as well. Some decent rain is possible with that system if the GFS is correct. We’ll continue to watch over the next couple of days on this rain chance.

NEXT WEEKEND AND BEYOND: More cool air, but not as cool as this weekend looks to come back in once again with high pressure nosing in from the north. This will keep the area mainly dry and mainly sunny with highs generally in the 70s. Another system looks to take shape heading into the following work week around Monday with another push of cool air from Canada by mid-week. This looks to continue through the end of period with a gradual return to seasonal levels by the end of the period.
