Iowa Forecast Discussion July 23rd 2013

NO VIDEO TODAY

REST OF THE WEEK: Cooler conditions this week with some sunshine today and tomorrow. Highs will be in the mid 70s to lower 80s across the state with the humidity much lower than it has been the last few days. Another system moves in Thursday night into Friday with some shower and thunderstorm chances at that time. That could bring another quarter to half inch of rain at that time. Cool air returns for the weekend with plenty of sunshine and highs around 80 or so.

NEXT WEEK AND BEYOND: Rain chances look decent next week as well with the main westerlies being fairly close. It will also mean that temperatures will be near seasonal levels. A ridge does look to form just to the south and southwest, but several systems from the northwest will tend to squelch the heat in that direction. Otherwise there are no big changes from yesterday, but we’ll continue to watch.
