HOT AND DRY: No real big changes over the next week across the state with a continued dry pattern with slowly warming temperatures through the weekend into the middle of next week. Highs today in the lower to middle 80s will be the norm rising to the upper 80s to lower to middle 90s by the middle of next week. The GFS wants to bring an isolated chance at a shower or storm with a front that will be moving by to our north and with the upper level system that will be retrograding to our south but the chances look rather slim at this time.
EXTENDED PERIOD: A front will nose down into the state by Thursday and Friday next week which may be the next best chance of seeing some showers and storms as the ridge begins to break down. Temperatures at that time look to return to near seasonal levels for a time but the ridge looks to return again toward the end of the period leading to more dry and hot weather which may lead to some serious drought conditions if many places don’t get much rain in the next 1-2 weeks.
