NO VIDEO TODAY DUE TO LOW VIEW COUNT

WARMING UP: Temperatures will warm slowly as we head into the weekend and next week but it also looks like the weather pattern will become more active as well with the ridge over the west and over the Atlantic flattening out with the westerlies moving close by. This will bring a renewed chance beginning Sunday (perhaps as early as Saturday night given the SPC outlook yesterday) of some showers and thunderstorms through at least early on Wednesday. Some of the rain could be heavy at times and severe weather can’t be ruled out but looks to be on an isolated basis. Highs in the 80s to near 90 will be common through the middle of the week barring any long last cloud cover.

EXTENDING ON OUT: The ridge looks to build back across the central Rockies into the Great Basin toward the middle of the month. The GFS is showing a big trough coming through the Great Lakes and digging all the way to the Tennessee River Valley and the Gulf Coast, similar to the current situation. This would put us in a northerly to northwesterly flow with some period of showers and storms and seasonal to slightly below seasonal levels regarding temperatures. Don’t see any signs of extremely hot weather around here or any tropical activity down in the Gulf or Atlantic, but we still have a ways to go and things are likely to change.
