EASTER WEEKEND: When you think of Easter, you think of warm weather and springtime. When you’ll think of Easter 2013, you won’t be thinking warm weather or springtime, because it won’t feel like either of them by Sunday. First off today will be the antithesis of what Sunday will bring, warm weather, sunshine and temperatures in the 50s to lower 60s across the state. Clouds will increase late tonight and Saturday as the next storm system moves in from the northwest. Some rain with possible embedded thunderstorms will roll through the state. Amounts are expected to be between a quarter to half inch at the most. Rain will taper off as the front moves through during the evening hours Saturday night bringing with it colder air in time for Easter into the beginning of next week. An impulse coming around the base of the departing storm could squeeze out some flurries or light snow showers Sunday afternoon into Sunday night. This isn’t expected to amount to a whole lot, just makes you wish Summer could get here any faster.

COLD APRIL WEEK: Next week starts out brisk with readings below average once again. Highs in the 40s with even some 30s possible as well Monday and Tuesday with a slow rebound back into the 50s by Wednesday in the western counties and Thursday most everywhere else. Thursday a weak front will pass through with little or no moisture but will temper readings back into the 40s to lower 50s before rebounding again into the following weekend.

APRIL SHOWERS: Looking out into the unknown (past 7 days out) a storm around the 7th and 8th of April may bring the state some showers and thunderstorms. Rainfall looks to be decent but this far out that is likely to change. A few other systems are possible into the middle of the month but there’s been no real trends seen at this time to have much confidence beyond the next 7-8 days at this time.
