WARMING INTO EASTER: Readings continue their slow climb to average as we near the Easter Holiday Weekend. It will be partly to mostly sunny again today with readings in the 40s to near 50, still a few degrees off the seasonal averages for this time of year. We will reach seasonal levels on Friday with highs well into the 50s to near 60, with some upper 40s clinging to the far northern and northeastern counties of the state. The next system though comes in late Friday night into the weekend with some rain and perhaps a rumble of thunder or two. Cold air comes back late Saturday night into Easter that may end the precipitation as a mix or snow flurries which shouldn’t amount to a whole lot. Easter looks brisk with readings in the 30s and 40s and a cold northerly breeze (not an ideal setting for Sunrise services).

COLD NEXT WEEK: Next week looks to start out brisk across the state with readings below average once again in the 40s to near 50 with a slight rebound in readings by mid week. A disturbance may bring a few clouds and maybe some precipitation across the far northern counties Wednesday night into Thursday, but the main part should stay to our north.

FARTHER ALONG: The weather does look a bit warmer heading through the first week of April with a few systems possible that could bring some rain and perhaps some thunderstorms. It’s too early to determine if any of the storms could be severe as we are nearing severe weather season in the Midwest. We’ll keep watch in the days to come. The GFS also shows possible cold weather as well possibly by mid month which may bring more of that white stuff that we’ve just been so happy to see of late. We’ll be watching that as well.
