GO AWAY SNOW: The snow that just wouldn’t go away is making its exit out of the state later today, although a few flurries are still likely mainly in the eastern counties of the state through the afternoon hours. Some partial clearing is possible in the western counties by this afternoon as well. Highs today will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s. Friday will see a little more sunshine across the state with some clouds. Upper 20s to lower 30s will be common again for highs Friday. Lows tonight and Friday night will be in the teens to near 20.
STRAIGHT OUTTA THE NORTHWEST: The next system arrives on the northwesterly flow during the overnight hours Sunday night into Monday. Some warmer air coming up from the south and southwest may start some of the precipitation as rain in the western and southwestern counties of the state before it changes all over to snow by the afternoon. This current run is showing the storm to be more robust than yesterday, but given what we went through with the “Surprise” storm, we’re not ready to make a call on what is going to fall, when just yet. The system moves southeast of the state Tuesday with a slight warming trend into the middle of next week.
FARTHER OUT: Several storms out in the voo-doo time frame include a possible rain/snow around the 8th and 9th of March. Another around the 12th and 13th and the 15th and 16th. It does show that the pattern looks to remain somewhat active as we head into the third month of the year tomorrow.
