MOVING OUT: Snow will gradually taper off from west to east today as the storm lifts out to the northeast. Totals have been quite varied across the state, many of which were much less than was forecast by us and many of the models. Another inch or so is possible during the daylight hours of Friday before snow ends late tonight.
NEXT STORM: As we dig out or broom out in some cases from this latest storm, another one moves in to end the weekend and begin the new work week. This one may bring some accumulating snow to the state. Where exactly seems to be up in the air at this point as models have varied on the track, strength and temperature of the surface. Some rain and or wintry mix is possible across the southern and southeastern counties of the state but this too may end up changing as well. We may have more specifics tomorrow. In any case the storm is expected to last at least through the first half of Tuesday with some backwash clouds and a few flurries or light snow showers.
INTO MARCH: Slightly below average temperatures look to continue into the first part of the March before a slight warming trend takes shape toward the end of the first week of the month. Another storm (at the end of the forecast) is showing signs of spring with possible showers and thunderstorms. Of course this is over two weeks out, and is likely to change but it does show that spring and possible severe weather is really not too far off even with all the wintry weather we’re currently receiving at this time.
