Freezing Rain Possible in Northeastern Iowa tomorrow morning

A winter storm is expected to develop over the Northern Plains tomorrow and move it’s way Northeast into the Mississippi Valley Sunday. Our current storm track shows the storm northwest of our area bringing with it primarily showers and thunderstorms across the state Saturday night and Sunday. However, temperatures in the Northeastern portion of the state will be below freezing, creating the potential of accumulating ice. This threat should not last as temperatures will warm to the mid to upper 40’s transitioning it to a rain event. If you are traveling north this weekend, please be sure to check the forecast as blizzard conditions are anticipated in Minnesota.
