DRY AND COLD: Looks like a dry week ahead for the state with cold weather becoming the rule. Highs today will be in the upper teens to lower to middle 20s across the area. A bit warmer Sunday with highs approaching the freezing mark in southern Iowa before a cold blast moves in Monday that will last for the rest of the week.
SKIMMING BY: A storm system will move just to the south of the state Monday into Tuesday with some rain and snow down in Missouri and downstate Illinois. This will skim the southeastern counties with a few clouds but nothing coming out of them however as high pressure will be in control of our weather for the week. The new year will ring in cold and the first few days of 2013 will likely see highs in the teens and lows in the single digits above and below zero.
FLO FROM PROGRESSIVE: Flo here live from the Progressive flow that will be over the state in the first two weeks of 2013. We see several possible storms that may effect the state of Iowa perhaps around the 9th and 10th of January. This could be the first precipitation chance of the new year and possibly the next chance overall given the dry pattern setting up. We’ll watch and see what trends if any pop up on the latest runs.
