SNOW AHEAD: The system late this week doesn’t look too fierce but it still may cause a few travel issues Thursday into Friday across mainly the northern half to two thirds of the state. Snowfall with this system will be about an inch at best, with perhaps two inches max over the northwestern counties. The system will depart the state for the weekend with readings dropping into the teens to near 20 for highs and lows either side of 0.

SEASONAL COLD: Heading into New Year’s, it looks to remain seasonal across the state with highs in the 20s and lows in the single digits. There could be a few storms systems in the offing but there have been some discrepancies run to run of late. Any snow that does fall with any system that moves through is looking to be light at best.

WARM UP?: The model is still showing a possible warm up in about two weeks time, but this could come with more moisture out of the Gulf and perhaps another storm system that could dump on us once more with snow and bitter arctic weather. It is January after all and Spring is more than 2 months away.
