WEEKEND STORM: Emphasis has been put heavily on what will happen this weekend across the state, especially on Sunday with a possible storm that could bring some snow to the state. The latest run only show a dusting to an inch mainly for areas along and north of Interstate 80. Perhaps up to 2″ near the Iowa Minnesota border. Most if not all will melt however due to the ground temperatures being above freezing. Anyone traveling to the Twin Cities or western Wisconsin would need to be prepared for several inches of snow that will stick to the ground and the roadways as well. This storm will bring much cooler air to the state into next week, with highs in the 20s to lower 30s and lows in the single digits and teens.
BENIGN THEREAFTER: Next week doesn’t bode well for snow lovers either if we don’t get anything from the system on Sunday with mainly dry and cold weather. A system will get close at midweek but won’t amount to much. We might have to wait until next weekend to get any precipitation but our confidence isn’t very high on that storm either right now. Snowless streaks may continue in many areas for a while more.
