Saturday Severe Weather Possibility?

The Storm Prediction Center has outlooked a risk for possible severe weather across the western half of Iowa and adjacent states Saturday afternoon and evening. The main threats right now look to be from large hail and damaging straight line winds. There is still some question regarding possible capping the storm mode at this time, but as the storms move to the east the severe weather threat should wane at that time. There doesn’t look to be a risk for severe weather for Sunday in the eastern counties at this time. This would likely be farther to the south with a new low developing along the front. We’ll watch to see if any new risk areas are introduced tomorrow in the new outlooks at that time.
