SLIGHT RAIN TONIGHT AND MONDAY: A disturbance will move across the state later tonight into Monday with some chances of showers across the area. The rainfall will be scattered and light with most areas getting a tenth of an inch or less, but the heavier totals could reach closer to a third of an inch in some areas.

ELECTION DAY: Now the weather isn’t looking as dry as once was predicted for Election Day. There is a threat especially in the morning of a few widely scattered showers across the northern and eastern counties of the state (with the same system Sunday night into Monday). This will not effect voters heading to the polls for the election whatsoever.

VETERANS WEEKEND STORM: The GFS wants to bring some widely scattered rain back on Friday along a warm front that should be draped across the northern counties of the state. The showers are likely to be widely scattered and shouldn’t amount to a whole lot. The big event rolls in Saturday into Sunday with some showers and perhaps strong thunderstorms. Best chance right now for any storms to possibly become severe would be Saturday afternoon and evening in the central and eastern counties of the state but this could change. There could be enough cold air and moisture still around on Sunday that some of the precipitation may change to some snowflakes or perhaps sleet in the area. We’ll keep eyes on that as well.

COLD AIR INTRUSION: Following the storm next weekend, the weather will turn colder with highs perhaps only getting into the 30s and 40s. Another storm is projected to come through by mid to late next week that could bring snow to the state instead of rain. We’ve seen this from time to time and see if this trend continues also.
