CALM ALL WEEK: With Sandy dominating the weather headlines in the country for the east coast. Our weather is going to be pleasant with partly to mostly sunny skies for at least the next week with highs staying in the 40s and 50s and lows in the 20s and 30s. The only fly could be a few flurries moving through far northern Iowa later tonight into the morning hours of Sunday, but they won’t amount to much.
SANDY ON IOWA: The impacts of Hurricane Sandy on Iowa will be minimal to none, with all the moisture and wind staying well to our east. This latest run of the GFS did show the low moving as far west as Cleveland and then slowly moving to Toronto early to middle of next week. This could bring a few clouds in the far eastern counties and some breezier conditions if this was to prevail, otherwise as mentioned earlier, partly to mostly sunny skies with near seasonal temps for the next week will be the norm.
HERE COMES THE RAIN: Rain will return to the state by next weekend with another storm system coming in from the west. It’s too early to determine amounts but there should be a good return flow with this system. We’ll be able to get a better handle on this system by Sunday or Monday. Otherwise the first half of November sees near average temperatures with several chances of precip but nothing out of the ordinary at this time.
