WARM DAYS: A few quiet and warm days are ahead after some beneficial rain for most of the state this weekend (except the NW). Several locations received over 2 inches of rain. Temperatures will climb into the 60s today and 70s to near 80 on Tuesday. Winds will be breezy on Tuesday which may lead to some elevated fire risk in NW Iowa where rainfall was little to none.

MIDWEEK RAIN: The next system comes into the state Wednesday and seemingly sticks around for at least another day or two with wrap around. Amounts from this system could be significant as well with a half to one inch possible over the Wednesday through Friday time period. Some embedded thunderstorms are possible but severe weather isn’t anticipated at this time.

MORE ACTIVE HALF: The rest of the month looks to be quite active with several more chances of rain showers across the state through the next two weeks toward Halloween. Some cooler weather is in store as well with some snow possibly just to our north. Don’t see any big blasts at this time, but the temperatures we’ll see Tuesday may be the last time we see them this year.
