LOOK MORE DRY WEATHER!: This isn’t a surprise given the lack of any precipitation the last week or so but the dry weather pattern is looking to continue into next week at least. Temperatures will warm in the process into the 70s and perhaps low 80s with mainly sunny skies.

WHAT’S THIS?: The GFS is showing a dump of cold air flooding the northern part of the country Thursday into Friday which may bring the state the next chance of measurable precipitation at that time. The Model had been picking this up several days ago but it went away from that and now it’s back again. If this does pan out, it would bring some rain perhaps a few thunderstorms to the state Thursday with much colder air behind it. Perhaps a few wet snowflakes in the Dakotas and Minnesota Friday. The first weekend of October would be quite cool if this is right with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.

MORE COLD AIR DUMPS?: The month of October looks to have more of these cold air dumps from Canada with several frontal passages bringing rain and perhaps some wet snow across the state on the 10th and again on the 14th. But we’ve seen about everything in the 7-15 day stretch the last few weeks and this could be gone on the next run, however this has been seen more than a few times over the last week or so and has popped up from time to time. It may go away and come back later on, we’ll keep watching.
