WARMING UP: A cold and frosty weekend will yield to some more seasonal late September weather the rest of the week with highs coming back into the 70s to near 80. It will stay dry for most of the week although there is a chance mainly Thursday of some rain south of Interstate 80. Could see isolated activity south of US 34 as early as Tuesday but it’s looking better on Thursday. Rainfall will be very spotty with a quarter inch possible mainly south of US 34, and nothing north of Interstate 80.
OCTOBER: The next best statewide chance of rain may hold off until the first few days of October with a system coming in from the west. The Model wants to bring a more active pattern for the first week of the new month but we’ve seen just about everything (including a possible snowstorm in Iowa on the 6th and 7th on the 18z run) so there’s no real confidence right now after next Monday regarding any possible storms at this time.
