No IWR’s until at least Wednesday due to vacation in Minnesota.
A quiet and drier cooler weekend will slowly warm up into the beginning of the new work week. Readings will be back into the 80s by Tuesday and Wednesday before the next front slowly makes its way through the state. This front will bring the next chance of some showers and thunderstorms through the early part of Friday. Some of the rainfall could be moderate to heavy. A more pinpoint outlook can be given in due time in several more days. The next weekend looks seasonal as well although the 18z GFS model wants to bring in an upper level low through the southeastern half of the state with some cloudiness and a few showers. If this is right, temperatures would be held down in those areas and there would be some rainfall, otherwise it will be seasonal and mainly sunny.
The GFS the last few days has been going back and forth over the possibility of a cold snap coming down from Canada in the middle of the month. The 18z run today is no exception bringing it down the 17/18th and lasting through the 20th. This could bring frost level temperatures to the state and end the growing season if this pans out. We’ll keep watching this in future runs and update any changes in future discussions or IWR’s.
