A very wet system is currently still in the southeastern counties of the state this afternoon after dumping several inches of rain in the southeastern half of the state over the last 24-48 hours. Lamoni has received over 8 inches! with other areas getting more than 2-4″! We will have a rainfall total for the state later this afternoon after the rain has moved off to the east. Many of the totals will be surprising. This will dent the drought substantially across the southeastern part of the state but again, it comes too little too late for crops at this time.
