WEEKEND RAIN: A decent chance of rainfall across the state this weekend, and it might be the only rainfall chance we have in the next week. A storm system is moving into the state and with it will come some showers and thunderstorms. Some of the rainfall could be moderate to heavy with some places getting over an inch. Most everyone else will get at least a half inch out of this before the storm departs late on Sunday. It is going to be a cool weekend as well especially in areas that have cloud cover and rainfall early, far eastern Iowa may still make the upper 80s to low 90s before the rain chances move in.

DRY WEEK: The upcoming week will be dry mainly due to Isaac which will be making a “possible” landfall across the central and eastern Gulf Coast Tuesday night. We will have a slow warming trend throughout the week with readings in the 80s to lower 90s with low humidity once again.

MORE RAIN: The GFS is still showing some rainfall possible around in the first week of September with seasonal temperatures. We’ll pinpoint this further next week after Isaac gets out of the way.
