FEW WARM DAYS: The next two days will be the warmest of the next seven with readings in the 80s to lower 90s across the state. This will be ahead of a cold front that will be sweeping into the state late Wednesday into Thursday bringing with it some showers and thunderstorms and much cooler air behind it. Rainfall still looks to be decent with a quarter to half inch possible with isolated heavier totals reaching an inch perhaps.

COOLER PREVAILS: The rest of the week into the weekend will see readings back into the 70s for highs, perhaps a few places staying in the upper 60s Friday and Saturday. We could see lows down into the middle and upper 40s Saturday and perhaps Sunday morning. Along with this cold air and sunshine, we could see some instability showers form during the afternoon and fizzle out in the evening as the sun goes down. These if they form will be very spotty and only dump a few hundredths at most, but most likely would just wet the ground briefly. Temperatures slowly warm toward seasonal levels into next week. With no big changes toward the end of the month as well.

NOTE: Iowa Forecast Videos will be DISCONTINUED AND REPLACED with a new exciting Video Series on August 20th.
