DAYS IN THE 80S: The next few days will see readings a bit more typical of August with highs in the 80s and lower 90s across the state. This will be ahead of a cold front that will be moving into the state late Wednesday night into Thursday. With it will come some showers and thunderstorms and another shot of colder air behind it. Rainfall amounts with this system look to be about a half inch perhaps more in areas that get repeated thunderstorms.

COOL TO END: The week will end as will the State Fair this coming weekend with very cool temperatures. Readings back into the 70s with some areas in northern Iowa not even getting out of the 60s!. Lows will be in the 40s and 50s, and we could see readings close to records once again if the conditions are right. A slow warm up into the mid to upper 70s to around 80 toward the beginning of next week and the first day of school for many kids across the state.

NO REAL CHANGE: Further into the month, the pattern doesn’t really look to change much with nearly seasonal temperatures and several bouts of rain, but the GFS has been swinging wildly as of late past 7-10 days so we’ll just have to wait to see what they come up with on the next few model runs.

NOTE: Coming Soon, Iowa Forecast Videos will be DISCONTINUED AND REPLACED with a new exciting Video Forecast soon to come to the Blog.
