Drought 2012: Two Months of Summer Rain

Here is the comprehensive list across of locations across the state and the Upper Midwest with rainfall for the first two months of the Summer 2012 Season. Only 8 out of the 92 sampled in this image are at or above average for rainfall during the Summer Season. The percentages of average have come up slightly in some areas, particularly in Wisconsin and Indiana. South Bend has received quite a bit of rain the last few weeks and they’re not back to average for the summer, but still in serious drought however. Here the percentage of rainfall for the summer is averaging between 16 and 44% of typical summertime rain in the state. Currently Severe to Extreme drought continues over the state. The new drought monitor comes out tomorrow morning, there looks to be a slight increase in the intensity of the drought in our state at this time.
