NO VIDEO TODAY DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER THE NIGHT BEFORE
BIG CHANGES: Say goodbye to the triple digit heat, say goodbye to the sultry air and humidity. Say hello to seasonal readings and seasonal weather for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Readings will remain in the 80s to near 90 during this time with some chances of showers and thunderstorms returning namely on Sunday at this point although could be earlier if some things pan out. The drought monitor comes out this morning. This will NOT reflect the rain that has fallen in the last 24 hours. The drought monitor will be from Tuesday when the ground was still and in some cases is dry across the state.
NORTHWESTERLY FLOW: The heat will be moving westward and looking to park itself over the four corners region over the next two weeks. This along with a trough to our east will put the state and region in a northwesterly flow coming out of Canada. This will keep temperatures down in the 80s to lower 90s and keep at least a chance of some showers and storms coming through the state from time to time around the crest of the heat ridge. At least there is some light at the end of the tunnel regarding the drought, it may be dim, but it’s at least something. In some cases, this rain is too little too late.
