THE HEAT IS BACK: The heat is making a return with 90s and heat indices at or exceeding 100° once again. There is still a chance of some showers and storms today across the eastern counties of the state, but this will quickly move out and dry weather will reign through the middle of next week. There will be no problems at Iowa Speedway tonight for the Camping World Truck Series race there.
SLIGHT COOLING: A cold front will move into the state Wednesday bringing some relief to the region at that time, with some shower and storm activity and readings sliding back into the upper 80s to lower 90s. The front will stall close by with possible shower chances through the end of the week before the front moves back through as a warm front bringing more heat back for the first few days of RAGBRAI set to begin a week from Sunday.
RAGBRAI: The beginning of the bike ride at this time, looks to start out quite warm across the area, with some cooling toward the end of the week with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. This is still more than a week away and we’ll get more concrete evidence as the event draws closer.
