DRY BUT COOLER: The weather pattern has shifted after one last day of 100 degree heat mainly in the southern counties on Saturday. Readings this week will be in the 80s for highs and lows in the 60s. One thing that isn’t changing is the lack of rainfall. A few isolated souls did get some rain on Saturday afternoon with a few showers and storms that did move through, but 95% did not and 100% will not this week either.

ANY RAIN?: The next chance of rain may hold off until Sunday of next week but that’s questionable at this time. Even farther out it doesn’t look promising for rain. Drought conditions will likely worsen this week and even next with the continued lack of rainfall in the last few weeks and months.

HEAT WAVE ROUND 2: GFS is bringing the heat back in about 10 days and this could be as bad as this last one. The 594mb ridge will be almost directly overhead bringing temperatures well into the 90s once again, with possible 100+ degree locations again. This will continue long term into the first few days of RAGBRAI, so biker beware and continue to watch these videos as we get close to RAGBRAI in 2 weeks.
