OVER AND OVER: The heat is continuing for a couple more days across the area. Readings will be in the 90s to near 100° both today and Friday before some relief comes in this weekend. Excessive Heat warnings are in effect statewide through Friday for this heat wave.
RAIN?: A cold front is still forecast to come into the state this weekend bringing some chances of showers and thunderstorms to the state. The chances aren’t particularly great at this point, but any rain right now will be beneficial. Amounts look to be around a quarter to half inch with some areas getting isolated heavier totals. Some places may not get any rain at all, as the rainfall will be widely scattered during the weekend.
COOLING DOWN: Temperatures next week will be near seasonal levels, but considering this weeks heat wave and the warm weather the week before, this will feel like a cold blast. Temperatures will be in the 80s to near 90 with lower dew points making it feel a whole lot better than it is right now.
