HIT OR MISS: The next couple of days will be hit or miss when it comes to rainfall. Some areas will get a lot of rain (some parts of southeastern Minnesota had over 8″ of rain last night alone) and some areas will get left out, (most of southeastern half of Iowa got nothing last night). This pattern of hit and miss shower and thunderstorm activity will continue through early on Sunday, then a small break before more comes in next week. Severe weather is possible with any of the storm activity, but we really can’t pinpoint any place that may have some over others at this time. We may not know until the day of where severe weather may or may not develop. Readings will remain in the mid 80s to lower 90s with dew points in the upper 50s to mid to upper 60s.

HEAT WAVE?: The GFS today has weakened the possible heat ridge at the end of the month, but it still looks like it will get warmer toward the end of the month but possibly not as dry as was earlier mentioned. Still summertime can be very finicky when it comes to shower and thunderstorm activity so, be prepared for anything at this time.
