Flash Flood Watch for Monona until Late Tonight

The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a Flash Flood Watch, which is in effect for Iowa Weather Zone number 43, which is Monona county until late tonight. The official watch has not been issued yet, but the Omaha NWS Area Forecast Discussion has written that they will issue it later today. Heavy rains tonight are expected to top out in the 1-2″ per hour range, which will lead to very dangerous Flash Flooding conditions. If you encounter a flooded road, turn around, don’t drown. Stay tuned to local television, media, or website outlets and NOAA Weather Radio for later statements and possible warnings.
