Regional weather view.

A summer like pattern is developing across the Upper Midwest. A hot but dry airmass has made its way in. Tempetures will be in the 80s to 90 region wide for the rest of the work week. Then as a cold front moves through Thunderstorms could develop long this front which will bring a quick chance at rain before it becomes cooler and dry for the start of next week.

Local and Metro views.

For the end of the workweek we can expect sunny hot and dry conditions! This will not be the humid, sticky type of airmass though, it will be sunny, windy hot and dry. Temperatures will be hot with this airmass. Upper 80s are more likely but the 1st low 90s of this season appear very possible across the area, especially in warm spots and inner city areas. This hot airmass will not cause many problems but drink plenty of water if out in the sun, as this is the 1st real warm day of the season so far. A cold front will move through late Saturday night and showers plus thunderstorms will form along this front and move through. This system is lacking moisture so there will not be an abundance of rain but some areas will a quarter to a half inch. Severe weather will not be an issue. Things cool off Sunday but remain cloudy with highs more seasonable in the 70s. Monday looks pleasant and sunny with highs in the 70s lows in the 50s.

Friday, Sunny hot with Low humidity. Gusty south winds to 35MPH Highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s Friday Night, Warm, Clear skies with lows in the mid 60s.

Saturday, Sunny and hot with low humidity. Gusty south winds to 30MPH Highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Saturday Night, A chance of showers and thunderstorms late.

Sunday, Cooler, a chance of showers and thunderstorms early then ending. Highs in the low 70s. Sunday Night, Cloudy Skies lows in the low 50s.

Monday, Sunny pleasant with light winds. Highs in the mid 70s Monday night. Clear skies lows in the low 50s.

Looking Ahead

It appears to stay dry and sunny with fair temperatures all the way through most of next week. Heat and moisture will slowly build up towards the end of next week, which leads to thunderstorms chances starting Friday the 25th. Saturday looks clear with fair temps then Sunday the 17th a weather system spreads thunderstorms across much of the Midwest. Heavy rains look possible into Monday as well. It clears up with fair temps out by Wednesday the 30th and stays that way until heat and humidly build in by the 1st of June. It looks like we may have a very hot start to June. More on this later.
