Travelogue 2012: A Steve Martin Kinda Day

Oh the rain had cometh and gone away from the start of the morning. A train ride to Washington DC was on the plan of attack. Before that came an interesting twist to the plot involving yours truly and a penalty which I will not go into. The rain stopped outside of NYC, although we were again underground below Penn Station aka Madison Square Garden. Squeezed along through Philadelphia and Baltimore onto Washington where the sky was peppered with sunshine and puffy cumulus clouds and hot, humid weather. But it was just getting hot in the town and under the collar when the rental car we recieved decided it wanted to take a break from working, or in mechinical terms, wouldn’t automatically go into anything other than first gear. You’d think a car revving at 5000 RPM at only 40mph would not make much sense now, but alas it did not and we retraced back to get another car that would suffice and were on our way. A trip to a house serving waffles was to be are dinner and then a jaunt to the hotel for another’s day nap in time for the sights of DC on tap for tomorrow.
