ONE MORE TIME: There is a slight risk of severe weather again today for all but the northwestern quarter of the state. The main threats again will be large hail and damaging winds. There also could be a heavy rainfall threat as well, but given the lack of much rain in the state the last few days, flooding may only be an isolated concern. Storms will fire during the afternoon and move quickly out of the state by late evening bringing cooler and drier air in behind it. Temperatures today will reach the 80s in the eastern 2/3rds of the state ahead of the front.

COOLER QUIETER: The rest of the coming week will be much cooler and more calm across the state. Temperatures will be back to near average for early May, 60s and lower 70s with some crisp nights in the 40s. A good couple of nights to open the windows and let some cool fresh air in.

MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND: The Mother’s Day weekend is just on the edge of the forecast, right now Saturday could see some early showers followed by a clear wonderful day for Mom on Sunday. Readings will be in the 60s and 70s with lows a few degrees either side of 50 at this point. There isn’t much confidence beyond this point to discuss any systems in the week that follows.
