The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe thunderstorm watch effective until midnight for the following counties, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Butler, Greene, Grundy, Hardin, Jasper, Marshall, Poweshiek, Story, Tama, Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Delaware, Dubuque, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, Winneshiek and Mower MN. Thunderstorms are currently moving through the north central portions of the state at this hour. These storms will be capable of producing strong winds and large hail. There is also a threat of some flash flooding as well. There is a Flash Flood watch across the eastern and southeastern portions of the state through Saturday morning.
