STORMY WEATHER: The continuation of severe weather will move on across the state today and possibly several more days to come. A slight risk has been out-looked for most of the state today and the entire state for Friday. The main threats will be from large hail and damaging winds. There could be an isolated tornado across the far southern counties today, south of IA Hwy 92. Yesterday, storms didn’t fire due to low clouds, drizzle and a capping layer that took hold after the previous storms moved out early in the morning. If this occurs again today, the chances of severe weather will be greatly diminished. Frequent updates will be posted if things arise.

COOLING OFF AND QUIETING DOWN: This pattern won’t last for long and should be out of the state by Monday, however the rain chances don’t totally go away, just the severe weather threat. Readings will also drop back into the 60s to lower 70s for highs after readings in the upper 70s to the mid 80s this week. More rain chances, albeit lighter and more widely scattered.
