3AM UPDATE: Slight Risk for All of Iowa; Enhanced Risk to the South

2 Nights in a Row — Possibly 3. Those are the amounts of live chats we have had straight since Tuesday. And it won’t stop. Today, the Storm Prediction Center has posted a Slight Risk of Severe Weather for nearly all of Iowa today.
There will be quite a few left over storms throughout the day today thanks to isentropic ascent within the front with Moderate to Strong instability within the warm sector throughout the day. The primary threats will be isolated large hail and damaging winds.
Several more storms are expected to develop when yesterday’s showers move out of the area. The most unstable area of the storms are in Southern Iowa, where a 5% tornado risk exists, however stronger capping will also exist in this area.
The primary threats of this storms will be very large hail and damaging winds with MLCAPE 3000-4000 j/kg.
