WXUPDATE: Nearly no change in latest SPC Outlook

The Storm Prediction Center has posted the first Severe WX outlook for the day — and nearly nothing has changed as for the general forecast. Scattered Showers are expected to linger around the area in the afternoon with a marginal hail threat. Soon thereafter, strong southernly flow with dew points in the 60’s will create moderate instability over the region. Any storm – big or small, by 4:30PM should erupt and start the severe weather threat for the evening. The primary threats of these storms will be very large hail, heavy rains, and perhaps damaging winds. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

We will continue to monitor this situation throughout the day. A live chat is planned for 4:00PM if warranted.
