NORTHWESTERLY FLOW: The storm track will be coming out of the northwest over the next few day bringing a storm over us by Wednesday. The rainfall from this system continues to look light at this time, with little if any gulf moisture coming up. Temperatures will warm ahead of the storm into the upper 60s to middle 70s before cooling back into the lower to middle 60s to finish the week.

WEEKEND: This weekend will see some rain beginning on Friday and lasting through at least most of Saturday. We’ll be on the north side of the storm so any severe weather that may develop will remain to our south. A brief cold snap will follow with possibly some 30s for lows Monday morning before rising into May.

MAY: The GFS is showing a zonal flow across the country to begin the month with some quick moving storms. These won’t drop a whole lot of rain, but won’t last long either as they’ll be in and out within a day. Toward the end of the first week, the flow changes to ridge over the west and broad trough over the east. We’ll be far enough to the west to see some warmer air, but we still need to see more before becoming confident on this pattern in May.
