THE FOLLOWING IS A FINAL ASSESSMENT FOR THE DAMAGE THAT OCCURRED NORTH
OF THE OSKALOOSA AIRPORT ON 04/14/2012. THE PICTURES AND GROUND
SURVEY INFORMATION WAS COMPILED BY MAHASKA COUNTY EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE APPRECIATES THE EFFORT IT
TOOK TO CONDUCT THE GROUND SURVEY.

* EVENT LOCATION: START POINT ABOUT 1.5 MILES NORTH OF THE
OSKALOOSA AIRPORT.
* PEAK WIND: 100 MPH
* AVERAGE PATH WIDTH: 75 YARDS
* PATH LENGTH: ABOUT 1 MILE
* INJURIES: 0
* FATALITIES: 0
* DISCUSSION/DAMAGE: SOUTH OF THE TORNADO TRACK…THERE WAS
EVIDENCE OF A REAR FLANK DOWNDRAFT GUST FRONT WHICH PRODUCED
SCATTERED DAMAGE. THE OSKALOOSA AIRPORT HAD A PEAK WIND GUST OF
97 MPH FROM THE WEST WHICH WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS GUST FRONT.
