STORMS: The Storm Prediction Center has outlooked a HIGH Risk of severe weather in eastern Nebraska and far western Iowa, with a moderate risk surrounding that. The Slight risk area has been trimmed to areas west of Interstate 35. Although the parameters are higher over the western counties during the evening and overnight hours, there is some concern for some isolated severe weather east of Interstate 35 in the pre-dawn hours Sunday. Rainfall doesn’t look to be as much as once thought with about an inch possible, with isolated totals close to 2 inches. There is also a severe weather threat in NE Iowa on Sunday (which was also trimmed down) although the eastern counties look to have some severe weather threat, not just where the SPC says. The main threats today will be all modes with hail and wind being the main threats on Sunday afternoon as the storm departs the state.

REST OF WEEK: The rest of the upcoming week will be calmer in comparison to the next couple of days. It will be cooler to begin the week with highs in the 50s to near 60 with readings climbing into the 60s by mid-week. There could be some disturbances that could bring some shower activity to the state.

WEATHER AWARE: Although the severe weather threat is a bit lessened, everyone needs to stay weather aware. Make sure you are able to get weather information via weather radio or any weather radio app on smart phones.
