HIGH RISK FOR WESTERN IOWA: The SPC has posted a High Risk for a large portion of Western Iowa. This is extremely rare as this is only the 2nd time this has happened on the Day 2 outlook. Also, with this is a 60% probability of severe thunderstorms within 25 miles of a point, which is extremely rare and catastrophic. This is followed by 45% and 30% in Central Iowa and 15% in Eastern Iowa.
LIFE THREATENING SITUATION: Multiple tornadoes are very large hail may cause damage to life and property if storms do fire up.
LARGE TORNADOES: Violent, Long Track tornadoes with winds up to 200 mph are possible with hail up to 2 or 4″ in diameter. Strong Winds are also possible.
FORECAST: Storms will begin to form in the afternoon in Nebraska and Kansas and will make there way in with the Dry Line in the mid-evening. Strong to Severe cells will fire up, with the strongest threat in the evening. However, storms will continue into the night which brings in the possibility of nighttime tornadoes.
